Swimming

In week 9 of Term 1, 100 grade 1, 2, 3, 4 students participated in the swimming program. Students learnt about different strokes (freestyle and backstroke), how to float, treading water, gliding and jumping from the edge of the pool.

I like doing backstroke the best because you get to lay back, and the water feels warm on me. Nazah

It’s very fun and entertaining going swimming. You learn new strokes and dives like sitting dives, kneeling dives and standing dives. Enes

I can’t wait to go into the 50m pool today. We’re going to do dives in the water. Ahmed E

I learnt how to do the Torpedo. That’s when you put your two hands together and then you lift your hands to your ears. Sarah K

I got to learn new things at swimming like backstroke and floating. I like going swimming. Nouha

I like the deep water the best because you can’t touch the bottom. I’m in group one. Izet

Well done to all students involved! Please see below a slideshow of students during their swimming lesson.
