The Broadmeadows school community is extremely proud of our new surroundings. Having made the move to our new school, we are now beginning to realise the amazing flexibilities and functionalities that this new design has to offer.
It has significantly improved our capacity to meet the diverseneeds of our children. The design enables us to work with small groups of children in quiet spaces, instructional groups and larger groups of children all with state-of-the-art technology and modern colourful design features.
The school’s mission, “To maximize the learning opportunities of every child every day,” is the central theme to all that occurs and is further enhanced by the development of ecological sustainable features. These features include a purpose-built science centre, wetland that retains storm water on site, a 6.4 kw solar panel array, an energy producing wind turbine and a fully operational weather station allowing our children to analyse real, meaningful data in their learning.
The school’s Strategic Plan cites literacy and numeracy as key priorities and also includes developing stronger links with our school community as a major pathway to ensuring that every child is literate and numerate. The partnership between home and school is a key indicator of student performance and the building of this relationship is a key strategy for continued school improvement.
Working together with our school community, we have a strong focus on school improvement and excellent teaching and learning programmes that put our children at the centre of our day to day school life.
